WORK CONTINUES IN OUR SCHOOL GARDEN
The school garden is keeping 3rd and 5th class very busy at the moment! The many different varieties of lettuce as well as radish and spinach that were growing indoors now have new homes in our ladybird and bee planters! 😊 We are also very busy tending to the potatoes and onions we planted which are coming along nicely. We also staked our tomato plants which are continuing to grow indoors on our classroom windowsills. We are taking great care of the garden and monitoring it daily. Check back here regularly for more updates!

LÁ GLAS I SCOIL BHRÍDE
Bhaineamar an taitneamh as an lá glas! Bhí na páistí go léir gléasta suas ar an lá. Bhí Tionól na Scoile againn sa halla, tar éis sos ar feadh dhá bhliain! Bhí amhráin, dánta agus rannta againn as Gaeilge. Is breá leis na páistí go léir an taispeántas a fheiceáil.
We really enjoyed Lá Glas! All the children made a great effort to dress up on the day. We had assemblies in the halla for the first time after a two year break! We were entertained with songs, rhymes and poems as Gaeilge. The children really enjoyed listening to the displays from the other classes.

GREEN SCHOOLS
'BIG TRAVEL CHALLENGE'
'BIG TRAVEL CHALLENGE'
We achieved our goal!!! Well done to each and every one of you for coming to school in a sustainable way! 45% of us now walk to school!
Hopefully by Wednesday, 2nd of March we will notice a difference in numbers. Please see our progress below!
|
Following a recent survey of the transport methods children are using to get to school, we have noticed that 39.6% of children are coming by car. As a result, we have chosen to focus on the sustainable method of ‘Walking’ to school as part of our work towards our sixth Green Flag.
A Green Schools ‘10 Day Challenge’ will take place between Monday, 14th of February and Wednesday, 2nd of March where we will be encouraging children to walk to school or park ‘n’ stride where possible. Our aim is to decrease the number of cars coming to school and increase the number of walkers, in particular. |
LABHRAÍMIS GAEILGE
We are focusing on speaking Gaeilge and making an extra effort to use the Irish we know at school! We are acquiring new phrases through Frásaí na Seachtaine, Cluichí as Gaeilge and we are even awarding Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine gach seachtain!
Bain úsáid as do chuid Gaeilge agus bain taitneamh as foghlaim na Gaeilge!
