Ms. Bermingham's 1st Class
Welcome to our 1st Class page! We have been very busy in 1st class since September! Have a look below to see the many different activities!
Some of our wonderful artwork
We made pictures of fabulous rockets to display during Space Week. We enjoyed learning about Space during this week. We read about space and about the life of an astronaut in our story, 'Adventures of an Astronaut'. We learned many new things such as what astronauts do in space, what they eat there, what they do in their free time, facts about their spacesuits and much more. We also read the great story - 'The Darkest Dark' by Chris Hadfield. We really enjoyed this story and the fabulous pictures.

Our Autumn Walk
We really enjoyed going on our Autumn walk to see the many different signs of Autumn in the world around us! We looked for the different types of trees - oak, horse chestnut, beech, holly, sycamore and their fruit - acorns, horse chestnuts, beech nuts and helicopter seeds. We enjoyed our walk in the nice weather and we explored what we found back in the classroom after. We also gave the great 'hugging tree' a hug in our class groups.
The Life Cycle of an Oak Tree
In our science and geography work, we also learned about the life cycle of an oak tree. It was very interesting to see how the tree grows through the four stages from a little acorn to a sprout, then a sapling and then after many years in to a big oak tree. We also really enjoyed our story 'Little Acorns' which was about the story of an oak tree which showed us great pictures of each stage. Then we went to see a young sapling of an oak tree in our own school grounds which was great to see!

We will watch our flowers grow over the coming weeks and take care of them with water and enough light.
