Junior Entrepreneur programme (JEP):  A message from 5th class

Last week 5th class hosted their showcase day for the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) in the Hall on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. JEP is a nationwide programme for 5th and 6th class who work to create their own mini-business. Our big idea was 'Blooming Bookmarks' which is a biodegradable bookmark made from wildflower seed paper. Every time you finish a book you can plant your bookmark in the soil and have a wildflower to represent each book you have completed. We want to encourage people to read and get people interested in gardening.

We want to thank everyone who purchased bookmarks last week and supported our showcase day. It was a resounding success! We will be making a donation to Marymount with a portion of the funds we raised from the showcase day. We hope to have all the bookmarks that were pre-ordered ready in the next couple of weeks. We will let you know when we have your bookmark ready. There will be bookmarks available to purchase in Spar and Dooleys in the coming weeks also. Thanks again to everyone who supported the showcase day!

JEP: Blooming bookmarks

Our 5th classes are taking part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP). Their product is
‘Blooming Bookmarks’. Blooming Bookmarks is a biodegradable bookmark with seeds in it -
every time you read a book you can plant wildflowers.

Senior Showcase (3rd Class - 6th Class) on Friday, April 17th from 9.30 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Funds raised will be donated to Marymount.

Well done to all of the children in 5th Class who are working hard, along with their teachers,
on this excellent initiative.

Our new sensory Room - Thank you to the parents association!

We are delighted to announce that a refit of our Sensory Room has now been completed. The
works were completed by Creative Activity and the majority of funding was provided by the
Parents’ Association based on fundraising last year. Our sincere thanks to all parents for
supporting PA events and fundraising.

Scoil bhríde host chess exhibition

Scoil Bhríde hosted a major chess exhibition (‘Féile Fichille’) on Friday 20th March. 120 children from six schools took part in matches across the day. The boys and girls from Scoil Bhríde played really well on the day - maith sibh a pháistí! Thanks to Mr. Forde for teaching chess to all of 4th to 6th Classes and for organising the teams and the day itself. We hope to extend this down to 2nd Class by the end of the year and run our first in-school championship in the summer term.

SCHOOL LIFE
The children at Scoil Bhríde work very hard throughout the year on their school work and a variety of initiatives.  They are proud to show you their wonderful work below.  Take a look at the online gallery featuring various aspects of learning from across the children's "School Life".  This is just a small snapshot from across the school, please feel free to explore their learning further on the class web pages and under the "School Life" section of the website.
HAPPY BROWSING!
